I have been seriously thinking about how to accessorize my outfits with flats.

Because countless times we see celebrities and fashion bloggers wearing heels with their outfits.

Even thought heels do make an outfit pop, in my neck of the woods no one wears heels for an everyday look.

So I decided to check out some celebrities to see how they accessorize their outfits with their favorite flats.

Ashley Greene - notorious for wearing flats (love her for that) she usually pairs blazers, her latest glasses with either a pair of skinny jeans or her latest shorts.

Well here are some great steps to soften those beautiful feet of yours and start wearing your must summer essential - Sandals.

1. Exfoliate your feet once every other day

Try Mixing:

1 teaspoon of Jojoba Oil (get at supermarket or drugstore)

1 teaspoon of sea salt or regular salt

1 tablespoon of sugar

= Apply to feet and exfoliate well. Rinse with water after exfoliating

2. Remember to Moisturize

Apply lotion to your feet twice a day. After applying lotion cover your feet with socks to keep feet extra moisturized.

Follow these simple steps and your feet will become soft and smooth. Perfect for when you start wearing sandals and heels this season.

I just came upon (thanks to Lucky Magazine) on a great beauty website I'm totally in love with right now called the Beauty Department.

Since I'm a bit of a loser on the beauty department (makeup, hair...) this website is great for me. It offers fantastic advice on hair and makeup, and tutorials on how to achieve the look.

This website was created by the lovely Lauren Conrad and her beauty entourage, Amy Nadine (makeup artist) and Kristin Ess (hairstylist).

I am obsessively browsing this site for their great advice. Can't wait to try out some of the hairstyle tutorials this summer.

My New Rules to Live By

This is a post of some rules I wanted to incorporate in my life, but I never had the chance to post it. So here is my long lost post:

After all my stressing out and unhealthy ways of thinking, I have noticed that what I'm doing hasn't been working for me at all, and I need to change the way I think and my strategies.

After reading a post in Sterling Style I decided to do some goals for myself as well. These goals are meant to help me take time for myself and enjoy the beauty of this world. :)

1. Treat myself once in a while: I can sometimes get so overwhelmed with school and work, that I forget to spend time with my friends or myself. So i'm going to treat myself by going to watch a movie by myself, take a trip down to Venice Beach and ride my bicycle, and also go to Hollywood & highland on the bus and shop and look at all the different things going on there. Also i always ignore my nails, so maybe get a mani-pedi.

2. Try to hang out with friends, or the ones I love: I have neglected my friends ever since I started going to school. I have been so busy and don't have time for them. Maybe whenever they have a chance we can all go to the beach together and hang out. I love Venice and Santa Monica beach during the daytime. Or we can all hangout and go eat at Olvera Street or Hollywood & Highland. <---- My favorite discoveries. They have a lot of action and cool culture during the day.

3. Stay in: With so many obligations and trying to make people happy, I have to be true to myself. Many people love going out to parties, but I don't. So possibly stay in because that's what I love to be doing. Then watch a good movie, or a TV show on TV that i don't normally watch.

[Ok, since I originally wrote this post I was just going out a lot because friends wanting me to. But I hated it a little, especially to places I didn't want to go to. But now this rule is going to change. Lately I have been staying home all day doing nothing and simply is getting on my nerves. So my new #3 rule is to go out, what I mean is go visit some friends or family members and go out to eat and hang out. I mean is my Summer vacation, I deserve to have fun after a hard working year of school ;) ]

4. Do something active once a week: I have noticed that trying to do everything school obligates me to do isn't great for my health and I need to start taking care of my body. My goal is to do yoga during the weekend, go to the school gym, or go ride my bike to the park or beach.

5. Try to do something new: I always stick to my routines. I'm not involved in school, I just go to school and come back home right away. So I'm going to see if I can join some clubs I have been dying to get involved in, but don't have time to do so. Great clubs I want to join is my school's Salsa Club and our Entertainment & Tourism Club :) things that I love. As well as attend school activities like Comm Week and ASI productions like free food, or movie nights ( I mean I'm there till 10:30pm on thursday nights doing nothing so why not go).

6. Give back: I feel so good whenever I do something nice for someone. With so much stress I get in school I tend to get stressed and depressed at times. So I need to start feeling good and feeding my soul. I will do something nice for someone, donate my time and volunteer, and also donate my prom dresses.

7. Sleep for eight hours: Okay my body needs 10 hours sometimes. And lately I have been neglecting my sleep so I can get everything done. Or I wait till the last minute to do something that I neglect sleep. So I'm going to try my best to sleep at least 8 hours each night or more. But I will not exceed more than 12 because I feel sluggish after that.

8. Do not stress, things will fall into place: I had to take this tip from Kourtney Kardashian (Book: Kardashian Confidental). I am a perfectionist so when something goes wrong or something isn't perfect I freak out and stress, and it usually gets me depressed and feel like I cannot do anything. So now I will remember that every time something goes wrong I will remember about another time something went wrong and how I got through that phase. I always come up with something good or creative every time something goes wrong. So I will remember I can get through this. Change my plans or strategies and do what I have to do. Because at the end I will know exactly what I need to do. Everything happens for a reason.

I hope these rules work and change my outlook on life. What are some rules you want or already live by?

Weekly Gratitude

Wow this week has just been amazing in dreams coming true.

I'm so thankful that God has put these people in front of me and showed me that dreams can come true.

One of my classmates just got a full time job with E!, so after graduation, she's off and starting her life. :)

One of my friends just got an internship with ABC in Los Angeles as a Programing and Production intern. I am so happy and proud of her. Dreams can come true. You go Andrea!

I'm so thankful for reading a quote from Kendi at Kendi Everyday. She said that the only person holding you back is yourself. And I couldn't agree with this more. I am currently in this position. I am terrified to get an internship. You don't even know how much! I don't want to get one, because what if I fail, what if I don't like it, or what if I'm not good enough. Another reason will be I'm afraid of interviews. I want to become an entertainment reporter, so I asked one of my friends to ask her internship supervisor who works at one of the top entertainment channels in the world and he said to give her my resume because they are looking for summer interns. And I just froze, I don't want to send it. I'm terrified. I'm just scared that in their interview they will ask me "do you watch our channel?" and I'll be saying no to them. I can't afford cable right now so that makes it hard for me to watch it. Makes me feel like a failure or bad. But I constantly read their website… but I wonder if they will care? But just the meaning of that quote, is so true to me. I am the only one terrified to do things and I'm the only one holding myself back. All of my classmates are getting great internships and I'm not because I am too afraid to try. I hope you guys have a great weekend. And remember to dream, because dreams can come true.

I'm grateful that this school week is over

Thank you to my amazing partner for this news package (TV news story). I'm so grateful I had a partner like Janelly we helped each other out through the stressful times, and we also learned new things and perspectives in our journey in broadcast journalism.

I'm thankful the creepy guy on the bus didn't follow the girl he was touching, or followed any one of us out. That was a scary time.

Thank you me, for being amazing this week and not freaking yourself out too much before you went up in front of the class to present.

Thank you to me for working hard this week. You did all your assignments at a crunch time. And you kept on going, even though at times you felt like you wouldn't be able to accomplish them (but I did).

Thank you to me for trying something new during your class presentation & going for it.

Thank you God for blessing me. And opening my eyes to new things that I didn't know about.

Thank you to those people for teaching me about the bible and showing me all these cool findings I didn't know about. It's actually very interesting. At first I didn't get the bible, it was kinda confusing especially all the parables. But now that these wonderful people have decoded the bible for me, it's interesting the things I read, see, and discover.

Thank you to the movie "Devil" for entertaining me on Wednesday night. It was a good movie. First time I wasn't too scared watching a scary movie alone in my room with the lights off at night. This movie kept me on my toes the whole time.

What Makes You Happy?

I have been really stressed lately, with a school I really hate and a major I might not even go into. Not to mention I have tons of homework and I have to work. And its been pissing me off that I have so many things to do and I have work and I can't do it. I wish I had a day off.

When I do my friends, especially this month they have been calling me because we all share birthdays this month. So its constantly going out for a birthday each weekend.

So I really had to think about it. What makes me happy, what makes me relaxed?

People have told me that they love to take bubble baths, put on a nice candle, do yoga. But I tried them and it didn't work for me.

So I asked myself, what makes me happy? What would I rather be doing everyday? And I realized and noticed I love being at home and just reading my magazines. I love fashion magazines and celebrity stuff, I love it and that's what I like to do and find fascinating all the time.

That's what I have been doing lately. And I feel wonderful, so at ease and less stressed. Except for the exclusion of going to work and going out with friends. Even though I love them, I do want to stay at home and just relax with a good book or fashion magazine.

So here are the few things that are making me happy at this moment:

♥ Browsing Lucky Magazine's Outfit of the Day [So addicting]

♥ Cleaning my room and decorating it with colorful stuff

♥ writing on my blog

♥ and shopping. [Right now I'm addicted to Forever 21 and American Eagle]

My life Crisis

So I have been thinking constantly of what I want to do with my life - well with my career. And I have no idea what I want to do?

My first thing I wanted to do was become a journalist. Ever since I was a child I loved to write. And when I got to high school I knew what I wanted to do was become a journalist so I can write.

But as time went by and I transferred to a four year university from a community college (Which is at this moment) I realized I couldn't write anymore. And my passion for writing faded away. :( So sad.

So I am left with the questions: What do I want to do in life? and what do I want to major in?

-I do want to make a difference in this world. Maybe I can become a teacher and help students.

-I love to learn about people and love psychology.

-I love working with children. I have worked at a day camp before, and I'm planning on working this summer on my school's day camp, which will be amazing :)

-and I love fashion.

So with these things to consider what should I be? I have no idea yet. What do you guys think, do you have any career goals for me. Let me know because I am in desperate need of help.

It has been a long time since I logged on so I decided to log on today because I finally got my internet back :) woo hoo and bought a laptop.

So I started a new school this semester :(

I kinda don't like it but I do. I still haven't made friends there... which sucks. I miss my old friends.

But hopefully i make some new ones.

So I have been feeling a little low and have been searching for inspirations. But nothing.

Can't wait for Fall

I cannot wait for fall. I can't wait for it to start getting chilly outside, being able to wear my scarfs, cute dresses with thights(nylons), flats and peacoats.

I cannot wait. I want to start dressing like this already:

and start carrying my cappucinos to class. Being able to wear layers of clothing and skinny jeans all the time.

I love it. I used to hate fall and winter because it was cold. But this summer and last summer I didn't have great summers like I used to. Plus this summer my feet were getting sun tanned of all of the flats I will be wearing. And my summer wardrobe sucked. Because I will have to wear converse all the time with every outfit to school, because I had chemistry and because I got a job that requires me to wear heels, so I needed the chucks for protection from harsh chemicals and the sun harmful rays.

I love my chucks, but eh didn't have an awesome summer. So I can't wait for fall. And i start school on Monday :( In the hot weather.

Why don't we try some stuff this summer, to make ourselves and a little of summer beauty come out.

Thanks to Marie Claire, I found some great new ways to make us look natural this summer.

Isn't summer supposed to be the time, people look beautiful, radiant and natural.

well with these tips you sure will.

Instead of drying you hair with a blow dryer and ruining your hair,
Try air-drying your hair this summer. And if you have curls let them loose.
Buy: apply a leave in conditioner, or a frizz serum incase curls get out of control.

Instead of drinking black coffee
Try drinking Iced Lattes this summer. (all the celebrities are doing it, why can't you?)

Instead of letting your beautiful eyebrows untamed
Try going to a professional to do your eyebrows, then maintain the shape yourself.

Instead of spray tanning your body, or using self-tanners
Try showing off your natural skin tone. Isn't summer the time to be your natural gorgeous self? (By the way you'll catch some color just crossing the street. Remember apply an SPF lotion to your body)

Summer=Vacation Time

So its summertime, and you know what that means; many people and families are taking the thing to do this summer- VACATION.

So I was in one of my favorite sites reading some articles and I found this great article called We Never Take a Vacation from Fashion which is about outfits to wear when you go to vacation.

I have got to say that these are one of the best put outfits I have ever seen. They are really cute and really cheap. So check them out.

My favorites are the pink shorts, they are too cute, and its a great outfit to wear to disneyland.

My second favorite, well let it be my all time favorite will be the Washington D.C. outfit, better yet known as the yellow outfit to me. The gladiator sandals and the cute yellow top are a must this summer.

And my third favorite will be the New York outfit. The author has a point, if you go to NY the last thing you want to look like is a tourist, but with this outfit you will look like you came out of a Sex and the City episode and will make you look like a New York native. So step fashionably forward to New York with that outfit.

I found my new favorite site on the internet. Nivea.com this website is packed with great fitness, spa, beauty and calming tips for you. It is so great I fell in love with it.

After hearing about it on the Tyra Banks show I had to log on and check it out.

It is great because whatever language you speak, it has it. So log on to recieve great tips you'll love for this summer and forever on.

Since I want to have a great productive summer, I am logging on to the website everyday.

My 50% discount nightmare

Well yesterday I went shopping. And since I have a new job, I got a 50% discount of a $300 purchase. So I was all happy, but I blew it. Instead of buying pieces for my work wardrobe, I bought pieces I will enjoy for my everyday life. :( What a bummer, because now I have to find essentials for my work outfit. I only bought three shirts and two jeans for my job, and a dress and a pair of cute shorts for my everyday life. But what I should have done is not buy the shorts, I could get them cheap whenever I want. I should have invested in one good shirt or blouse from my store so I can promote. But I didn't I bought the shorts and a stupid dress top I don't like anymore. I feel awful. And I'm probably never going to get the chance to get a 50% discount so that is awful!!!!!!!! and now I don't get to wear much clothing of my store to represent it. And i hope I don't get in trouble when I go back to work.

Well I just wanted to share this story with you. I want you to think twice and buy essentials that you really need if your job ever gives you a 50% discount to buy clothing from their store for you to wear to work.

Remember that. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Tanks under Dresses, A new fashion look?

So what is up with stars wearing their tank top under their dresses? The new Teen Vogue issue has beautiful Miss Hayden Panettiere with a stripped shirt under a white dress. I love the look.

The first time I saw this look was with Rihanna on the Teen Vogue cover, which I fell in love with.

The second time I saw it on Kate Bosworth, and I was like ooh something is going on.

And the third time I saw it was on Hayden in the June/July 08 issue of Teen Vogue which I really fell in love more. And I totally needed to blog about it.

then I was researching pictures and I found another celebrity wearing the look, Mrs. Beckham. Here is Victoria Beckham sporting the look.

So the first full sized figure model won America's Next Top Model, this wednesday night.

To tell you the truth I never thought this day will come. I never thought Tyra was going to let it happen. I actually was happy Whitney Thomson won. I was rooting for Anya, because Whitney was sooooo anoying always explaining herself. But I am so glad the judges looked at the last challenge. Because Whitney Rocked the runway, I was all like yeah! She looked awesome and I loved the pink dress. Plus for the first time Tyra Banks looked amazing!!!!! Fierce!

Inspired again

I am so happy again to become a journalist. Today I read a story in my school newspaper, and I saw how good it made me feel to read it and was glad that person was able to give me that information.

I want to do that again, give people the information they need! And I'm going to do it.

I know my school newspaper has two more last issues for this semester. So I'm going to work my butt off!

I took three stories for this issue, I can't wait for them. Wow! never said that before for this newspaper.

And I really can't wait to see Iron Man. Which I get to go see before anyone else sees it. Those are the perks of being a journalist. Good Times!

Ways to help the Environment

I know I told you guys I was going to post some ways you guys can help save the environment, but I have been very busy and lazy. But I promised you guys a post and I’m going to keep that promise. So here are some few ways you can take a part in helping the environment. Sorry about not being too great, but I hope I can post something better in the future. But everything counts so take a part to help save the environment. So have a nice Earth Day tomorrow (April 22) and take your part on saving the environment.

• change regular light bulbs to low energy fluorescent light bulbs
• Plant a tree or a garden in your backyard to get rid of carbon dioxide and to bring more oxygen to the environment.
• Cleaning the lint filter in your dryer regularly will use less energy because a dirty filter uses up to 30 percent more energy to dry clothes.
• Recycle present gift bags. When you get a present in a gift bag don’t throw the gift bag to the trash, rather save it and use it for a future present to give to someone, this will reduce waste in landfills.
• Thinking of buying a new computer, buy a laptop instead of a desktop, it uses less electricity to run.
• Save electricity by turning off the lights and television when you leave a room.
• A very important one that many people do not know is to unplug cell phone chargers out of the outlet when not in use, because the charger draws energy just being plugged into the power outlet.
• Save water by cutting your shower by two minutes and turning off the faucet while you’re brushing your teeth and washing the dishes.
• Also instead of getting a new water bottle every time you get thirsty buy a reusable water bottle and refill it every time you finish it. This will save more energy because plastic water bottles take a lot of energy to make.
• And a great way to have less pollution is park your car instead of going through the Drive-Through at fast food places, also ride your bike or take your skateboard to school or take public transportation to places to make the world less polluted.
• Carpool

Saving the environment can also help you make some money.

• Selling back your textbooks saves paper needed by publishing companies to make new books; this will save paper and give you some money.
• Recycle. Recycle your plastic bottles, aluminum cans, newspapers and magazines and take them to a recycling station near you in return of some cash.
• Recycling one aluminum can, can save enough energy to power a Television for three hours.
• And thinking of buying a new wardrobe, think about recycling your old clothes. Sell them in a thrift store or do a yard sale, instead of throwing away your clothes to the trash and clogging up more landfills.

So Miss Heidi Montag has a new line called Heidiwood in Anchor Blue.

I totally fell in love with this collection. It sucks because I am a big fan, I mean a BIG FAN of Lauren Conrad, and for me to like Heidi's line is awful.

So yesterday I went to my nearest mall and my friend wanted to go to Anchor Blue so we went. I saw Heidi in the poster and was all like ahh I do not want to go in there.

We went inside and I loved it. I fell in love with a zebra top from her collection, is beautiful.

The top has a beautiful bow that just adds creation and sassiness to the top. It was the best top I have ever seen.

Lets just say the collection is so Heidi. Plus she beat Lauren Conrad on this one, her clothes are affortable unlike Lauren's.

So i changed my layout and I like it. I also added more links on my links section so you can check out. i also renamed it. It was time for a little change I needed it.

So today I had a job interview and unfortunately I didn't get the job because I have school. :( What a bummer. They need a person who had availability for five days and I can only give four days out of my week. Education.....

Well it was a shock because its the first time I have ever been job rejected on the spot. :( sucks. My pretty little ego rejected. But hey maybe everything happens for a reason and I wasn't meant to work there right now. Maybe in the future♥!

At least my spring break starts today. what a great way to enjoy the week.
